The Northwest basin is located in the north of Argentina. Oil and gas production comes from two Palaeozoic horizons (Devonian and Carboniferous), a Mesozoic (Cretaceous) and a Cenozoic horizon. The Northwest basin holds approximately 1% of the country’s total proven oil reserves and 8% of its gas reserves.
